With the renewal of our 40-year lease, Pinewood School has a unique opportunity to transform our Upper Campus into a state-of-the-art educational environment. This renovation will create adaptable, inspiring spaces that support our exceptional programs and foster a vibrant, innovative community. With over 88% of our $65 million goal already raised, we are at a critical juncture to bring this vision to life.
-
The Annual Fund supports the school’s operational budget, ensuring excellence in daily programs, staffing, and student experiences. In contrast, the capital campaign is a once-in-a-generation initiative focused on building and renovating physical spaces. While the Annual Fund fuels today’s needs, the capital campaign invests in Pinewood’s long-term future.
-
The campaign goal is $65 million. We are thrilled to share that we have already raised $58 million through the generosity of early donors. With your help, we can close the gap and make our dream campus a reality.

Yes, multi-year pledges are a wonderful way to make a lasting impact. Pledges can be fulfilled over a period of up to five years, allowing donors to spread out their contributions.
-
In addition to making a gift, you can support the campaign by attending events, volunteering, sharing our message with your network, and advocating for Pinewood within the broader community.
-
We encourage all members of our Pinewood family to get involved by donating, attending campaign events, sharing stories about the impact Pinewood has had on their lives, and volunteering their time and expertise.
-
The renovation will create modern learning environments, enhance academic and extracurricular programs, and support our mission to nurture curiosity, creativity, and leadership in every student. Faculty will benefit from upgraded teaching spaces, and the entire community will experience a renewed sense of pride and connection.
-
You can follow our progress on the Pinewood School website, where we will share updates, construction milestones, and stories highlighting the impact of your generosity.
-
Absolutely. Planned gifts, including bequests, trusts, and life insurance policies, are powerful ways to support Pinewood’s future. Please contact our Development Office to learn more about planned giving options.
-
We are committed to minimizing disruption during construction. Temporary solutions and clear communication will ensure that students continue to learn, connect, and thrive throughout the transition. Our goal is to maintain the quality of education and student life at all times.

A formal project application was submitted to the Town of Los Altos Hills (Town) in early February 2025 which was informed by many months of community engagement and feedback.
Getting to this point in the project timeline was made possible through the focused work of the Pinewood project team, the Town planning staff, and planning commission which provided valuable early feedback and guidance on our preliminary project plans. Equally important has been the critical feedback provided by our immediate and surrounding neighbors gathered through a combination of one-on-one meetings, group meetings, visits to campus, and even some neighbors welcoming us into their homes to ask questions and share ideas and priorities.
Town planning staff will thoroughly review our plans, provide comments on necessary revisions, and also go through the required environmental review process. We expect that this could take 6 months to one year. Once staff has completed their review, we will also begin to have a clearer sense of the timeline for our project to be reviewed by various Town committees, the planning commission, and ultimately the Town Council for a final decision.
