Why We’re Excited

Our vision for a new Upper Campus comes to life through the generosity of our community.

The new spaces and facilities will transform my PSP class by creating more dynamic environments for collaboration, networking, and hands-on learning. With flexible spaces for brainstorming and showcasing student work, my students will have more opportunities to engage with guest speakers, community partners, and each other in meaningful ways. What excites me most is the potential for these spaces to mirror real-world settings, allowing students to develop professional skills and take their mission-driven projects to the next level. Being part of Pinewood during this transformation is incredibly meaningful because it represents our commitment to growth, innovation, and student success. This rebuild will not only enhance the current student experience but also ensure future generations have the resources to think big, take initiative, and create lasting impact.

Meet the families and educators who are helping shape the future of learning at Pinewood School.

From Our Educators

As a teacher and coach I absolutely love the environment and opportunity provided by the Pinewood community for our students to enrich themselves. A student body as motivated and intrinsically driven as this elevates everyone involved, students and teachers alike. We are very excited for the campus rebuild because it means we can even further maximize our capabilities and opportunities for our fantastic students.

I’m really excited about what the expanded space means for our Computer Science and Engineering department. With the new dedicated labs, specialized shops, and better equipment, we’ll have the room to take on more hands-on, interdisciplinary projects. This isn’t just about adding space - it’s about creating more opportunities for students to explore, experiment, and bring their ideas to life. We’ll be able to offer new courses, support a wider range of projects, and help students pursue their passions. Whether it’s for another class or a personal project, I hope this space encourages more students to dive in, get creative, and see where their curiosity takes them.

Christine Tran
Upper Campus Computer Science Teacher and Department Head

My colleagues and I in the English Department cannot WAIT to have more classrooms at our disposal so we can have more ownership over the ambiance each of us would like to create for our students. I am already dreaming of all of the ways I will create a beautiful, inviting, and educational space for my students.

Sabrina Strand
Upper Campus Literature and Writing Teacher

I am genuinely excited about the new spaces and facilities that will soon be available at Pinewood. In particular, the Student Hub stands out as a transformative addition. I envision it as a peaceful, supportive space where students can go when they feel overwhelmed, anxious, or simply need a moment to themselves. Accessing such a space will empower students to care for their mental health and develop habits that will benefit them long beyond their time at Pinewood.

What excites me most about the upcoming campus rebuild is the overall focus on creating spaces that foster academic and emotional growth. These changes will help students feel more supported, connected, and prepared for their futures, both in and out of the classroom.

It’s meaningful to me to be part of the this transformation because I want to be a constant and reliable presence for students and staff throughout this change. The rebuild may come with some uncertainty, but I am committed to ensuring that our students feel grounded and supported despite the shifts in our physical environment. This rebuild will undoubtedly benefit future Pinewood students by providing them with a more modern, thoughtful, and well-equipped environment to thrive

I am so excited for Pinewood to finally have a theater and performing arts building that will live up to the high quality of our productions and performances and will give students a space that professionally showcases their talent.

Katie Linza
Upper Campus Performing Arts Department Head

Though the current theater has treated us well, we are looking forward to a facility where our  performing arts department will be able to serve our students and community even better. Having a facility where all of our programs can be properly supported and allow us room for growth is amazing.

From Our Community

Going on our twelfth year at the school, we often talk about how grateful we are to have found Pinewood. It has become a second home for all of our children, and the warmth we feel whenever we are on campus is palpable.  We have also witnessed the growth of all our girls, from timid kindergartners to confident, engaging, and kind young adults. This is a testament to the amazing culture of Pinewood, which is personified in a leadership team and faculty that are second to none.

As for Upper Campus, we personally have had nothing but positive experiences, and appreciate the safe environment and the small-campus feel.  We are thrilled for the campus to get a makeover that will bring the outside appearance up to the level of excellence that Pinewood offers in all other aspects.

We are so excited for this next chapter, and even though not all of our children will be able to experience the benefit firsthand, we are so happy to contribute to the campaign as a token of our appreciation for the role Pinewood has played in our family for so many years.  It definitely ranks as one of the best choices we have ever made.

We are excited for the facilities upgrade project.  We appreciate the impact Pinewood has had on both of our sons.  It will be great to have the facilities upgraded to more closely match the amazing community of teachers, administrators, students, and families.  Even though our older son is unlikely to experience the renovated campus, we are still excited to contribute.  This upgrade should greatly enhance Pinewood in multiple ways and we think the benefit will be felt by current students, future students, and alumni.

Jon and Leena Faerber

As both an alum and a parent, Pinewood Upper Campus has been the backdrop of so many foundational moments in my own life and now in my childrens’ lives. I could not be more excited for the transformation that is about to take place here! I am thrilled my children will take pride in their school that will both meet the demands of a high-tech world while keeping the heart of what makes Pinewood so special at its core. Our teachers have always been unmatched in both caliber and compassion, and the student body is truly distinctive in their joy and empathy. With this renovation, the institution itself will finally rise to the level of the people inside these walls! We wanted to be a part of this campaign to help bring the hidden gem of Pinewood out into the light. Some may have missed how truly unique it is upon first glance, but I have no doubt that this rebuild will bring even more mission-aligned families to join our children in classrooms, and on fields, courts, and stages.

We are humbled by this once in a lifetime opportunity to invest in the rebuilding of the Pinewood Upper Campus. The new facilities will enhance student experiences to build authentic connections with teachers and bond with other students in an innovative classroom and community space. We are inspired by the possibility of a larger student body as this will enrich the social emotional growth and athletic opportunities for our students. For anyone in the Pinewood community, this is absolutely a dream come true!

Kate and Ross Sandler

As parents of four students that have benefited from the exceptional education offered by Pinewood across all three of its campuses, we are proud to financially support the Upper Campus rebuild. This project is an exciting opportunity to upgrade the facilities and bring them in line with the wonderful teachers and learning community that already exist at Pinewood. We believe these enhancements will create an even better environment for our students to thrive and succeed.

Ben and Beth Wilson

Investing in Pinewood’s future will provide Upper Campus students with modern spaces to explore their passions, collaborate, and grow both academically and personally.
